Trail Overview
Desert Byway is a point-to-point trail that ribbons its way across the desert landscape, connecting from Silver Creek Road (155) to the "Bypass Route". The trail has a little bit of everything classic to this region. There are several hill climbs/descents along the way; some are more challenging than others with loose rocks, erosion damage, and brief, mild off-camber spots. The trail crosses the sandy wash a couple of times--it's recommended to avoid it in flash flood conditions. Cell service is found along the way. Be sure to enjoy the views to the east of the Black Mountains and keep an eye out for the wild burros that roam freely out here.
