Trail Overview
FR 641 is the literal definition of a "Forest Road". This one-lane dirt and gravel trail cuts through a dense forest made up mostly of the towering ponderosa pines that populate this area of the Kaibab National Forest. There are no obstacles on this trail, but also no service, so you'll want offline maps downloaded. There was tree work happening on this trail, so you might encounter heavy machinery, loud noises, and remote work camps--pay attention. There are some areas where mud ruts and erosion are present, so this trail might prove challenging if you hit it during monsoon season or after a rain event. Overall, this trail is a nice jaunt through a dense forest that has plenty of shade and allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of the local tourists visiting the Grand Canyon National Park.
