Trail Overview
This very scenic trail is 8 miles long and rolls through the steep foothills of the Prescott National Forest. The trail is not technical at all but is very bumpy and rocky in places. There are several steep and bumpy sections with a few switchbacks that require taking turns slow and easy. There are beautiful panoramic views to the east and south when dropping down towards Gap Creek. There are two potential small water crossings at Chasm Creek and Gap Creek. There is no camping allowed on the first part of this trail until after the first half a mile, and then camping turns into a dispersed area. Prescott National Forest allows dispersed camping for 14 days in a 30-day period. There are many nice camping spots further along this trail. Lastly, there are a lot of cattle along this road, so watch out for livestock.
