Trail Overview
FS417b is a one-lane two-track that cuts through the grasslands of the Coconino National Forest. This trail is primarily dirt, with some erosion and water damage, but have no fear, there are no major obstacles along this trail. This trail becomes rocky at times, with ruts that may become problematic in winter or monsoon season, as this area's topography is heavily dictated by water in all of its forms. There is no cell service along this trail so it is recommended that you have offline maps downloaded, should you choose to visit this area. While there are sporadic remote camp areas, some with primitive fire rings, it's important to check local listings and fire restrictions as this area is prone to large and uncontrollable wildfires. As always, if you do venture off-trail, please remember to TREAD LIGHTLY.
