Trail Overview
This out-and-back northern section of the Hoodoo wash is a blast. It's a beautiful speedy run to the border of the Yuma military test range. Be sure to watch your boundary lines as you approach. There is no trespassing into the range even though the tracks continue up the wash. There are steep sandy shelves from 2-4 feet with slightly off-camber lean. There are some short sections of boulder fields. Be aware of sharp rocks hiding in the sand that may puncture sidewalks. Narrow tree branches protrude into the wash and will cause paint damage unless someone does some trail maintenance. There are a few dispersed campsites near the beginning, with one perfect one at the base of a giant magical tree. One bar of Verizon LTE fades in and out. Steep shelves, long, loose sandy sections, and off-camber sections.
