Trail Overview
The road to Kinnickinnick Lake is a maintained dirt road that is easygoing and scenic. The start of this trail is off of Forest Service Road 125. You will see a sign pointing the way to the lake. The first part of the trail travels through ponderosa pines. This area is where the majority of the dispersed camping sites are located. After the ponderosas, this trail opens up to meadows and rolling hills. You will pass Mud Lake on your right as you travel towards Kinnickinnick Lake. The trail will turn to the left and you will be greeted by the sight of Kinnickinnick Lake. At the end of this trail is a day-use area with picnic tables, a pit toilet, a boat launch area, and parking.
