Trail Overview
Turning North off the 89A, this easy dirt road leads you into the Northern section of the Kaibab National Forest. Mud ruts/puddles are possible. The trail actually continues beyond where the track ends, turning into BLM-248. It is not nearly as maintained and more narrow. There is often logging activity happening in the forest, so please be respectful of the big trucks. There are posted signs against cutting trees for firewood, as well as "Save dead trees for wildlife". There are scattered camping sites and offshoot trails. Remnants of the Kaibab forest fire are the end of the trail, which occurred in the area on June 16, 2020. The area is closed in the winter months, including the 89A pass.
