Trail Overview
This short and sweet out-and-back passes a few great dispersed camping sites with old established fire rings and level spots to call it a night. The trail is rocky but relatively easy. Dense sections of Ocotillo plants wind their way to the skies every which way you look. You'll also see plenty of established old saguaros and the animals that accompany them. Be sure to watch for cactus wrens in the nests of the saguaros. The trail ends for larger vehicles at a wash crossing with a low tree. It would continue for a Moto or possibly an ATV, where it crosses another wash with very dense vines taking over all the plants in the area. Seeing this kind of lush vines in the desert is a strange sight. There is almost no Verizon cell service back here, so plan accordingly and be sure to download your offline maps before you depart. Bring lots of water as it's the desert, and anything could happen
