Trail Overview
RockyYolo 1 starts as a wide and pleasant roll through this section of the Prescott National Forest. You're mostly rolling by Juniper Trees and Burberry bushes with sage and scrub brush mixed in. There are sections of erosion on this trail, as well as wash crossings with steep entrances and exits. The further South you go, the more rocky the trail gets, with hills and the accompanying terrain becoming the norm. This is the first section of trail mapped in this area, and I simply ran out of time to continue further. That being said, there are no major obstacles on this trail, but also no service, so offline maps are a must. There are incredible views along this trail, with a few scattered small campsites. Please check local fire regulations as this area is typically under restriction for being hot and dry.
