Trail Overview
Grouse Mountain starts along US Highway 40, climbing north through private and BLM land before reaching Routt National Forest. This is a well-maintained gravel road that eventually turns to dirt. Climbing past Grouse Mountain, take precaution as lots of open burn forest lies ahead. You may be able to continue through Arapaho National Forest to 125, but the gate may be closed. You'll have to backtrack out if so.

Difficulty
This is a mostly dirt single-lane road with tight switchbacks and a few washouts. Watch for changing conditions since this is a previous burn area.
