Trail Overview
East Basin Lake is a short single track from the intersection of the Sawmill Creek and Hay Knapp Creek singletracks, that goes to the East Basin Lake. This trail looks significantly less trafficked and needs to be cleared of logs at the 0.7-mile mark to make it accessible all the way to the lake. It starts in a burn area on a primitive and faint trail through grassy fields and downed logs. You can hardly see the trail through the grass at times. You have to pick your way through the downed logs, many of which have been cut in the beginning, but you'll have to start hopping the logs near the end. It's really scenic as it goes through beautiful grassy meadows with big mountain peaks in the distance. It's mostly a smooth dirt trail, but there are a couple of embedded boulders. It seems to dead end with too many logs after less than a mile and needs some trail maintenance in order to revitalize it and be able to access the lake.

Difficulty
The 4/10 difficulty comes purely from the number of logs on this trail, and with some trail maintenance and log cutting, could become easier. Most of the logs are cut in the beginning, but the farther south you go the more it becomes unpassable with piles of logs and requires route finding as the trail has dissipated.
