Trail Overview
National Forest Service Trail 5388 is an easy and fun off-road trail. Located just south of East 13 Mile Road, this route is easily accessible. This trail is easy with nothing technical. Most of the trail is a combination of sand and dirt and weaves throughout a scenic section of the Manistee National Forest. Along this trail, you'll find a couple of dispersed campsite locations. If you do partake in using these sites, please tread lightly! Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. There are a couple of angled side hills that will cause you to be a little tippy. These are very mild but still worth noting in case recent weather has made them worse. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail!
