Trail Overview

Blind Lake Connector Trail (North of County Road 68) is mapped from the Aitkin County Road 68 area to the Soo Line North Trail. This section is 8.3 miles long and takes about 50 minutes including the time it took for trail pictures. This section is maintained by The Blind Lake ATV Club. The trail is mostly wooded area with some lowland swampy areas and a few bridge crossings.

Difficulty

This is an easy trail, some lowland areas have minor puddles but there were no issues to cross when mapped. Some areas have "floating bridges" or boardwalk-type construction to get access through low areas. Trail width is the only reason for the difficulty rating of 2.

Access Description

This trip started from the Emily ATV parking lot on Bloomquist Drive and South Bay Drive just east of Minnesota State Highway 6 at mile marker 32. (North side of Bloomquist Dr. just north of Sweets N Such Ice Cream and gift shop.) To make the most room for trailers, signs are posted as a reminder to angle park, there is plenty of room just be respectful of the Emily city-owned grass as you load and unload your ATV. Blind Lake Trails also have gravel road parking at these locations, Aitkin County Forest Road 51-1 (46.66132, -93.75675) and 400th Place- off Aikin County Road 3 (46.70286, -93.71273). From the Soo Line North area, Swatara has parking at 610th Street (County Road 7) and 389th Ave. (46.89550, -93.67367). Also, from the Soo Line North area, Palisade has trail side parking at Marconi Street and South 3rd Avenue (46.71186, -93.49020).
