Homestake

Trail Overview

The Homestake ATV trail goes west to east for 1.3 miles between 2 sections of Delmoe Lake Road. You can stage at the Homestake trailhead off of Delmoe Lake Road. The entrance to the trail is unmarked, but it starts at the old railroad tracks to the right of the road. It follows the old train tracks and along a pipeline. Some sections are smooth and easy, but others are more rutted with embedded granite rocks and loose decomposed granite. The west beginning is easy, and the east end is more complex because of two steep hill climbs with embedded boulder faces and piles of loose rocks. This trail is a straight shot across the OHV area if you are parked near the Homestake Trailhead and want to access more trails on the east side of Pipestone.
