Trail Overview

North Fork Rye trail starts about 5 miles up the Rye Creek Road from Highway 93, south of Darby. This trail is a very easy drive/ride as the entire trail is mostly packed dirt and gravel. The trail is wide enough for two full-size vehicles to pass each other in most places. This trail does pass through small parts of the CB ranch as well as some private property toward the beginning, so please stay on the trail. There are great views of the southern Bitterroot Valley towards the end of this trail. On the map, it looks like this trail could connect with Sleeping Child Road, but this is not the case. The trail ends at a gate where it looks like there is an active logging operation as of 2022. This is a trail that you will have to come out the way you went in.
