Trail Overview
Upper Spoon Creek is a good little trail to do while you are riding or driving Spoon Creek. It splits off of Spoon Creek in a very obvious spot right near a switchback. This trail starts narrow and remains narrow the whole way. Passing another full-size vehicle, in a full-size vehicle, may be very difficult on this trail. However, judging by the overgrowth of bushes on the trail, it doesn't appear that this trail is very highly traveled. There isn't much to see until you reach the end, as the bushes are thick and line the sides of the trail until the end. Near the end of the trail is a great view of the southern Bitterroot Valley surrounding Darby. The trail is pretty much a double single-track trail but is wide enough for a full-size pickup. It is mostly gravel/rock and in spots is dirt/mud. If you have a freshly painted vehicle, this would not be an ideal trail to take as you will encounter branches that stick into the trail. The end of the trail actually ends sooner than the OnX map shows. The trail comes to a dead end, overgrown entirely with trees and bushes as well as boulders. The last two images are of the end of the trail. There is a decent spot to turn a vehicle around near the end of the trail.

Difficulty
Other than the overgrown bushes that line the sides of most of this trail, it is a pretty mellow gravel/rock trail. The only challenge would be passing another vehicle on this trail. There are no rock obstacles, very few potholes, no water crossings, and little mud crossings on this trail. You could pretty much take any vehicle, just remember the wider vehicles will rub on bushes and branches.
