Trail Overview
Elk Ridge North spurs off from Lick Ridge and should be entered from the west end and taken as an out and back as the trail is completely washed out less than 1/4 mile from the east end. There are multiple rock gardens along the trail with obstacles close to 12". Heavy rutting up to 14" along the way and off-camber sections. These will be difficult and muddy after rain or snow. There are a few potential shallow water crossings, downed trees, and overgrowth throughout. The trail is mostly single-vehicle wide and provides only a few areas for dispersed camping. There is one designated hiking trail that connects from Lick Ridge to Elk Ridge near where the motorized trail is washed out.
