Trail Overview
The Big Steps trail starts to the west of Rowley Road. It climbs about 600 feet and then runs along the peaks of the nearby range. This is one of the more difficult trails in the area. It has multiple small ledges 2-3 feet in height and several larger 4- to 6-foot ledges with no bypasses. There are also sections of exposure combined with a narrow trail and some smaller rock obstacles. The ground surface is a mix of solid rock, loose golf ball- to baseball-sized rocks, and soft dirt. The trail intersects with several others above an old quarry on the side of the mountain.

Difficulty
Expect multiple rock ledges; many are unavoidable. Their sizes range from 2 to 6 feet. There's dangerous exposure to cliffs in some areas.
