Trail Overview
D's Workaround (D1228) in the Moab area is a fantastic trail if you like challenges! This trail is fun and filled with surprises! If you run it east to west, the trail gets more and more challenging as you head west. There are many ledges and waterfall-type areas, so scouting and proper line choice is essential. There are areas of sand and slick rock as well, so some off-camber sections are to be expected. The trail is up on a mesa, but crosses near the back of two side canyons, providing stunning views. Two, shorter, smaller offshoot trails lead to the canyon edge, where the views into Canyonlands National Park are breathtaking. There is no service in the area, so offline maps are needed. On this route, you'll find juniper and scrub brush, along with a few cacti.
