Trail Overview
Kirkman Hollow begins at a parking lot off Hobble Fork Canyon Road and gains nearly 2,000 feet of elevation before intersecting with the Mapleton-Sawmill Hollow Trail. The single-track trail follows a ravine which is mostly smooth. There are some embedded boulders in a few areas, but they are easy to get around. As you climb, the track becomes narrower and deeper-essentially becoming a trench in some places. The climb becomes steeper with several rocks and some S-turns at about the mid-point. Towards the top, you'll exit the ravine, travel through a field, and run into Mapleton-Sawmill Hollow trail.
