Trail Overview
Route picks up from Sparta and travels north through the central sands and ends in the Clam Lake Area. The first part of the route has lots of sugar sand, which can be hard on two wheels (a few wet days before riding can be helpful). Much of the route is shared with UTV/ATV traffic. The middle part is mostly straight gravel roads that go by farms. The final third has options to stay on the published route (mostly forest service roads and fire roads), or take the paralleling ATV trails, which are a lot of fun. Route ends at Twin Lakes Campground near Clam Lake, food and gas in town. Campground has water and pit toilets, and is on a lake. Bar in town has food, gas station sells firewood. Cell service is good on most of this trail, but make sure you download offline maps.
