Trail Overview
The Yellow Loop is a 60-inch trail that leaves the staging area by the training loops off of Moores Gulch Road and heads north. It has lots of ruts and uneven sections right from the start, with some rocks and washouts. It's often rutted down one side of the trail and troughed, making it off-camber in spots. These features wouldn't be hard for a UTV at all. It crosses several washes, and you can also easily mistakenly find yourself following the washes instead of the trail if you miss a turn. There's an easy-to-miss left turn that goes out of the wash, and you'll end up in a narrow wash that just keeps going if you miss the turn. The actual trail continues elevated above the wash on a flat mesa through tight bushes. It's rocky and a bit sandy, with big dips in and out of ravines and washes. There's another sneaky right-hand turnout of another wash as well. There's a trail sign warning of a steep side slope when the trail becomes a bit narrower on a shelf as it climbs to the top of another mesa. This trail can be more crowded because it looks like UTV tours go through here.
