Trail Overview
From Highway 16, west of Buffalo, you take the Sheep Mountain Road to the lookout. It's an easy ride with spectacular views at the top. The fire lookout facility sits at 9600 feet in the beautiful Bighorn Mountains. You can stay overnight at the facility (rented by the Forest Service) or you can picnic at the top while enjoying the views. There are a few camping spots along the trail.

Difficulty
There is nothing difficult about this trail, but it is narrow in places. It crosses a couple of creeks, but there are culverts or bridges.
History
The fire lookout was constructed in 1950 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. It sits at an elevation of 9600 feet in the beautiful Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming.
