You'll want to have clear directions on this network of trails as there are many different side roads and washes that branch off of it. Interesting mines and ruins make it a fun route, but make sure you come prepared with water and supplies, as it gets very little use.

Trail mostly was rough with rocks. We didn’t complete the trail because of big hill with big rocks that nobody warned us. One big pick up truck tried to crawl up that big hill but gave up and turned around. For safety reasons, we had to turn around to exit the trail. This app offline map may not be accurate and confusing. The best part about this was seeing the abandoned mine cabin. We had to use 4L at some tough spots. No bypass routes available. 4x4 vehicles with “2 lift and 31” all terrain tires advised.

Access Description

From Phoenix, head northwest about 35 miles on Highway 60. Before Morristown, turn left on Gates Road at mile marker 121 and head west. Bear right at large fork at 1.4 miles. Start of trail is on left next to river at 2.3 miles.
