Trail Overview
This is a nice, easy, mostly flat dirt trail. It weaves through a lush cholla and saguaro forest. There are stunning views of the mountains all around. This is a very secluded and quiet area with an extensive network of trails. There is a mine about halfway along this trail. You can park at the bottom and walk up if you feel adventurous. It is very close to the trail. Please use caution when observing the mine. There are few safety precautions, and personal injury can occur when exploring abandoned mines. There are no visible fire rings; however, several nice flat areas could be used for dispersed camping with excellent views of the surrounding mountains. The trail is mostly dirt with a few rock sections and narrows in a few areas. A few little hills are closer to the mine, but nothing complicated. AT&T cellular service is one bar and intermittent. It would be best to download your offline maps before exploring the area. Travel in the desert is inherently dangerous, and bringing additional water and supplies is a good idea.
