Trail Overview
Laws Spring is a one-lane dirt trail that has some off-camber mud ruts and rock sections. This trail goes in and out of the Juniper Trees that are indicative of this area of the Kaibab National Forest. Other than the typical erosion and water damage to the trail, there are no obstacles on this trail. This trail also has no cell service, so offline maps are recommended. Along this trail, you might encounter elk, deer, antelope, and various bird species. This trail leads to Laws Spring, a natural spring that shows petroglyphs on the boulders and cliff faces bordering the springs that have been credited to the Cohonina people, who inhabited the area between approximately 700 and 1100. Evidence suggests that the Havasupai people were familiar with the springs and periodically visited the area.

History
This spring is a rare perennial source of freshwater. Petroglyphs on the boulders and cliff faces bordering the springs have been credited to the Cohonina people, who inhabited the area between approximately 700 and 1100. Evidence suggests that the Havasupai people were also familiar with the springs and periodically visited the area. Laws Springs is named after Major W. L. Laws, a member of the survey team who established the original route between Fort Smith, Arkansas and Los Angeles, California between 1857 and 1859.
