Trail Overview
The beginning of this trail (the western end) is a mild nightmare. A fenceline road, it has sections of overgrown trees and shrubbery that guarantee paint damage. The wash crossings, while not overtly problematic, are off-camber and steep. There are many spots of erosion along this trail, so it's slow going. This trail terminates at a fence by the railroad tracks. This route is on Arizona State Trust Land and requires a yearly permit that can be purchased and printed online. The permits allow certain recreational activities, including camping, bicycling, bird watching, GPS-based recreational activities (geocaching), hiking, horseback riding, off-highway vehicle (OHV) usage, photography, picnicking, and sightseeing.
