Trail Overview
This section of the Cady Mountain Loop starts at an old abandoned oil well and continues east, paralleling the Cady Mountains off to the left. It remains mostly hard-packed dirt but has more sections of sand, some being deep and possibly requiring 4-wheel drive. The trail gets tight in a few sections but will accommodate full-size vehicles. It has some fun twisting S-turns, but watch out for larger rocks in the trail. It continues for about 8 miles before the trail widens into a long sand wash. The scenery in this section is more dramatic, as there are tall rocky walls off to the right and the mountains close on the left.

Difficulty
This section is easy, but you need to control your speed in the twisting sand wash so as to not hit any of the large obstacles that are often in the middle of the trail. 4-wheel drive and high clearance are recommended in this section of the loop.
