Trail Overview
This scenic canyon route offers a picturesque drive along a well-maintained road, accessible to any vehicles with ample clearance. After turning off Highway 1, you'll spot a potential campsite just off the road to the left, slightly concealed from view. The journey begins with a few miles of farmland before entering the canyon, where you're greeted by an extraordinary abundance of birdlife, particularly quail--likely the most you'll encounter on the peninsula. As you navigate the winding path through the vibrant red canyon, you'll notice numerous "No Hunting" signs, a testament to the area's rich bird population. Although a few sections may appear as if the road ends, it simply curves around gates until you reach the final gate, at which point you'll need to retrace your route back to the highway.
